Angel
Angel is another vampire related television series and a spin-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The series first aired in 1999 and was developed by Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy, and David Greenwalt.The story of Angel is about a 200-year-old vampire, Angelus, who is given back his human soul for killing a member of a group of gypsies. Angel, played by David Boreanaz, goes from killing and torturing his victims as a vampire to feeling guilty and remorseful once he is cursed with a human soul.
The show takes place in a modern day version of Los Angeles where Angel works as a detective to help those who cannot help themselves. As a detective, Angel, must fight off evil demons and other humans with a dark side. At the same time, he must try to battle the evil that resides in him.
Compared to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel is a darker and more urban show. In 2004, the WB network made a statement that Angel would not return for a sixth season. Another comparison between Angel and Buffy is that the latter show is based on adolescence while the former revolves around the stages of adulthood.
