Vampire Clothes

There are many divergent types of vampire clothing worn today. Although vampires in folklore were thought to have worn a certain type of costume, nowadays, it has changed to some degree. Women usually wear long dresses or tops with long skirts. For women, there are such items as the Bride of Dracula dresses, which come in an assortment of colors, including red spider web, purple voile, white voile, or silvery/blue voile. There are the textured velvet dresses that have fastenings around the chest and thigh areas. Some women choose to wear the capes which are long, hooded, and have inner lining, and come in usually red or black. Some of these dresses have cobwebs for sleeves or around the chest area, or even on the dress itself. There are also corsets which are very common, extremely flattering for the woman’s body, and have front and back lacing as well. The vampire skirts tend to be tight on the body, either leather or velvet, and have a split on the side to reveal the leg. Women also tend to wear the lace gloves without the fingers. For women’s shoes, they tend to wear black leather boots that go up to the knees or even thighs. The men’s clothing includes Victorian style shirts, usually white, long sleeved shirts with ruffles around the collar and sleeves. They wear fitted black trousers, and tail coats, usually in red and black. Many of these coats are velvet, are long in length, and have adorned buttons and pocket flaps. For men, spiked gauntlets are common.
